Marineland Mallorca opened its doors in 1970 on the famous Costa d'en Blanes beach in Calvià , making it one of the very first marine parks in Spain and Western Europe. Most notably, its dolphinarium was the first of its kind to open anywhere in Spain, a milestone that cemented the park's place in the country's tourism history.
Over the past five-plus decades, Marineland has grown from a pioneering dolphin attraction into a full-scale wildlife and entertainment destination. Alongside its conservation and educational focus, the park has worked collaboratively with the Balearic Government's Ministry of the Environment and COFIB on animal reproduction and conservation projects, including protecting endemic Balearic species such as the 'Ferreret'. In 2020, the park celebrated 50 years of wildlife conservation, research, and family entertainment, a landmark achievement for any attraction.
Marineland Mallorca sits right on Costa d'en Blanes beach in Calvià, just outside the upscale marina town of Portals Nous. It's easily reachable from Palma de Mallorca and most major resort areas on the island.
The park is open daily from 1 April to 31 October. Gates open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 9:30am to 5pm. The park itself closes at 6pm, giving you plenty of time to soak up every last moment.
There are three main shows running throughout the day: the Parrot Show at 10:15am, 1pm, and 4:30pm; the Sea Lion Show at 11:30am and 3:30pm; and the famous Dolphin Show at 11:45am and 3:45pm. Show times can occasionally change, so it's worth checking the schedule on arrival.
You can't go full swimming, but the Dolphin Experience lets you step onto an in-water platform to interact with the dolphins at very close range, including watching them underwater through diving goggles. No swimming is allowed during the activity. Minimum height requirement: 1.30m.
